LAPADA is seriously one of the nicest fairs around. Its compact size and range of quality works makes it a highly pleasant experience when looking for art and antiques.
This year had a stronger emphasis on jewellery, including a special exhibition of Yoko London’s exquisite collections made of pearls. The fabulous décor was also created by Adam Ellis on the inspiration of the Victorian architect Owen Jones.
Here are my highlights:
Ken Howard, Light Through the Parasol, 1982 (Walker Galleries Ltd., stand A34)

Pair of Secessionist Bamboo glasses designed by Josef Hoffmann for the Wiener Werkstatte, made by Ludwig Moser & Sohne, c.1922 (Morgan Strickland Decorative Arts, stand B43)

John Constable, House at Hampstead, 1830s, watercolour over pencil (James Hyman Gallery, stand A17)

Dutch School, Susanna and the Elders, c.1530, tapestry (Lennox Cato, stand B1)

Adam Paddon, Bonkers Conkers, bronze (Callaghans of Shrewsbury, stand B54)

Christopher Wood, Still Life with Tulips in a Vase, pencil (Freya Mitton, stand B34)

Yoko London (Haute Jewels London)

Louis Bosworth Hurt, Highland Cattle in a Glen, c.1885 (Macconnal-Mason Gallery, stand A22)

Quadruple Fresnel lighthouse lens, c.1925 (Hatchwell Antiques, stand A31)

Pierre Eugène Montézin, La Fenaison en Normandie, c.1930 (Gladwell & Patterson, stand A33)
