Closing the end of an era, this year’s annual Winter Auction will be the last large-scale auction held by Art on a Postcard and the Hepatitis C Trust, a beautiful partnership that lasted 11 years since 2014.

The 525 lots have been specially-made by exciting emerging artists like Eloise Dörr and Curtis Holder, and those already well-established, such as Ewan David Eason and Patrick Hughes. The selection also includes artists invited by several guest curators: Tabish Khan, Debbie Meniru, Lily Ackerman, Andrew Torr, and Ryan Lanji.

Whether you like figuration, abstraction, photography, printmaking, or collage, there’s something for everyone.

Three of my personal highlights are:

Sarah Maple, Venus Eyes, 2025, collage on paper (lot 55)

Peter Jones, Tobermory, 2025, oil on Arches paper (lot 180)

Callum Russell, Olympic Stadium, 2025, papercut on paper (lot 388)

The exhibition is on view all-day on Saturday 27 September at The Bomb Factory Marylebone. Online bidding has already started and will end on 14 October.

It seems that the project will be transforming, rather than ending. According to their website: ‘We will be back for International Women’s Day, but it won’t be with postcards….’
