AD / Making art accessible to everyone has always been my objective, and Own Art has the same ideals too.
They have an incredible Own Art Scheme that makes collecting contemporary art very budget-friendly, allowing you to split the payment over 10 months, interest-free. You can even take the art home on the day and enjoy it immediately.
As part of my collaboration with Own Art, they sent me to seek out the best offerings at The Other Art Fair. Here are my highlights:
The adorable adventures of Joanna Ham‘s bunnies! (@hamjoanna, stand 55)

Aromatherapy meets photography in the sensory world of Marioly Vazquez. Just pick a flower and let the smells direct your meditative journey (@cestmaria, stand 53).

Taya De La Cruz‘s boxy creations must be seen in person, contrasting themes of inner and outer beauty using miniature handwritten texts and tactile dots! (@handwrittenart, stand 140)

If you’ve lived in Britain for any amount of time, you can relate to the hilarious messages found on Bob & Eve‘s textile works (@bob_and_eve, stand 144).

Barbara Storey‘s figurative paintings were a welcome change of scenery, opting for a sinister and raw aesthetic reminiscent of German Expressionism (@barbaraoilpaintings, stand 81).

Layered with memories of personal travels and cultural experiences, Assia Bennani‘s works have a soothing quality to them that feels timeless (@assiabennani_art, stand 121).

I was very impressed by Lucy Storrs‘ choice of medium for her birds-eye views of coastal scenes: sheep’s wool. It’s amazing how well the fibres create dynamism and flow in each image (@lucystorrsart, stand 82).

Finally, Evelyn Morgan‘s wit and humour (as a person and in her art) is channelled in a body of chess-related paintings with the best puns in the world (@art.evelyn, stand 76).

Thank you Own Art for inviting me as one of their Own Art Creators to spread this valuable message: art IS accessible to all.
