Rising from the ashes of Masterpiece London is the debut edition of The Treasure House Fair, headed by two of the historic fair’s co-founders, Thomas Woodham-Smith and Harry Van der Hoorn.
Featuring 52 exhibitors in the beloved Royal Hospital Chelsea, it retains the same atmosphere and emphasis on cross-collecting across art, antiques, jewellery, and furniture, enabling buyers and visitors to really gravitate towards the things that really interest them.
Here are my top 10 to look out for:
Louis Welden Hawkins, Girl in profile with red headdress, c.1880-90 (Perrin Fine Art Limited – stand 302)
From the frame to the adorable composition, everything about this is just perfect.

Mel Ramos, Dita, 2011 (Galerie Gmurzynska – stand 317)
You can get your very own Dita von Teese!

Sir Matthew Smith CBE, Peaches in a striped dish, 1950 (Richard Green Gallery – stand 200)
I couldn’t resist the purple that fills the background.

A rare documentary stipple-engraved goblet engraved by Frans Greenwood, 1742 (Fileman Antiques – stand 110)
Super unusual!

James Ryan, Aspire III, 2022 (Barnsley Workshop – stand 319)
It’s impossible not to admire the beautifully organic craftsmanship of these library steps. Big fan.

Daniel Preissler, Four reverse glass paintings of the Seasons, c.1700-20 (E & H Manners Ltd – stand 119)
The designs are taken from a set of four engravings of the Seasons by Jean de Poilly, after the paintings by Pierre Mignard made for the decoration of the Château de Saint Cloud between 1677 and 1680.

Sir Alfred Munnings, Willows on the Stour, c.1935 (Macconnal-Mason – stand 205)
Unusually, it doesn’t depict horses.

Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince, 1st English edition, 1640 (Peter Harrington – stand 122)

Robert Indiana, Golden 5 felt tapestry, c.1975; and Matthew Chambers, Textured twist stoneware sculpture, 2023 (Portuondo – stand 207)

John Tunnard, Threat and Aerial Disturbance, both 1946 (Osborne Samuel – stand 211)
